Hello back! Long time no see. I got temporarily distracted with life (bought a new house and moved! my novel is in the third edit stage and shaping up nicely! another blog project!) so I neglected this space. To be honest, I’ve been wanting to make this better than it is for a very long time. Something along the lines of choice products and recipes, house and garden renovation, art deco mood boards, lots of lovely photography (to finally put on my barren instagram page), but with the book going full steam ahead, and all other hats I’ve been wearing, I’ve not picked up my camera in over a year now. Which is a collossal waste considering that I forked obscene amounts of money for a Leica Q, just before I left all my equipment to gather dust.

Photography has been my passion since elementary school, the same can be said for creative writing, and I find that if I’m seriously immersed in one, I become paralysed in the other. Strange how that goes. Maybe because a picture says a thousand words, so stories are no longer necessery? Be as it may, my palms have been itching for my camera lately, and I owe so many people so many photos and videos, that I’m hoping this dry spell will be broken soon.

In the meantime, I found this fun quiz on the net. Feel free to do your own answers and let me know, because I would love to read them.

1. What was the first dish you ever made? Creamy spinach.

2. What would you never cook/eat? Snails.

3. Favourite dish? Anything featuring peanuts, Thai basil and coconut milk.

4. Your favourite cuisine? Thai ๐Ÿ˜ And also food my mum and grandmothers used to make, typical Balkan working woman food.

5. Favourite spice? Cinnamon, cumin.

6. What ingredient can always be found in your fridge/cupboard? Yoghurt, rice, pasta.

7. Dish you will remember? Thai chilli fish.

8. Do you have a bad habit in the kitchen? I have some traumas connected to cooking so I often feel like I hate it, and I bring that energy into the kitchen a lot. But really, I quite like cooking, as long as I’m being intuitive and relaxed about it, so I’m working on that.

9. Favourite saying about food? Don’t eat anything your grandmother wouldn’t recognise as food.

10. If you could, what dish would you name after yourself? There’s this incredible layer cake my grandma used to make, made with hazelnuts and chocolate, and I’ve seen it under various names over the years, so maybe it wouldn’t be too cheeky to name it after myself! Torta Maya. Has a ring to it, no? ๐Ÿ˜Ž
