in too deep

Eurovision is almost upon us (fan scream). A little know fact, I love Eurovision. Every year, it falls during my birthday week - a week-long celebration, gorging on first watermelons, seeing friends, cake...And of course a customary Eurovision party. I love the idea of Eurovision, and especially the way it was before this globalisation nonsense, when every country that participated gave their best, and met for a few days to share songs and have fun.

And as much as EU politics have penetrated (some would say mortally wounded) Eurovision competition, especially since voting changes that were engineered in Scandinavia a few years ago, facilitating shameless booing of Russia and win for Ukranian propaganda song last year, none of that can dampen the spirit of 30+ countries bringing their sound and image to the forefront.

One country I am always incredibly proud of is my home country of Serbia. It's been 10 years since last Serbia Eurovision win, and as much as all the songs since then have been more than worthy, I really love this years instalment. US based Serbian singer and electronic dance music song, so catchy, so good. I hope, as always, that we win!

I'm also looking forward to sarcastic/fanboy UK Eurovision commentary on the night, that cracks me up every time :)) Here's Tijana Bogićević with "In Too Deep"

  1. Enoy your eurovision song contest night and I also wish you Happy Birthday! I used to watch it too but latwly I don't enjoy it cause every country tries to make and send a song that is similar to previous ones, especially to the one that won last time... This is so boring, I wish every country would send a song in their language, but unfortunatwlly most of them are affraid that people won't vote cause they will not understand... But Serbia's winning song proved it is not that way!
I'd love to listen to traditional sounds of all those countries... Anyway at last I love the winner to be someone that made me feel good, fun! :-)

    1. Thank you Demi! And I agree about Eurovision, but it's become a bit pointless since they corrupted the voting process, easily rigged and leading to mediocrity. I hope this year will be better, Greece had great songs a few years running, so maybe.. :))
