Today, another cleaner who came to clean my house turned to be ignorant and xenophobic. That's a third, and the agency employs mostly British, so I am not hopeful for the rest, save for one Irish woman who is great, but can't do the afternoons. I try hard not to judge and stereotype people on the basis of appearance or social class. But when someone, who's fifty years old, looks at you in all earnestness and claims that 'UK is the only country with free healthcare in the world' just because she had to pay to see a doctor when she was a tourist in Tenerife, you have to wonder whether minimum knowledge and intelligence testing for voters, rather than citizenship exams aimed at foreigners, would be more helpful to this country. And then came the obligatory comment about refugees and I had enough. I'm in half a mind to fire this agency.
